
The new season of the Primera Nacional will kick off this Thursday with the match between Colón and Temperley at the Cementerio de los Elefantes stadium. This edition will feature 36 teams, and the tournament format will be similar to last year, when Aldosivi and San Martín de San Juan achieved promotion.
The teams will be divided into two zones of 18 and will play home-and-away matches over 34 dates. Unlike last season, there will be no inter-zone matches. Two promotions will be awarded: one to the winner of the final between the leaders of each zone and another to the winner of the Reducido. Regarding relegations, this edition will have four teams that will lose their category, the two lowest-ranked from each zone.
Zone A will consist of All Boys, Almagro, Alvarado, Arsenal, Atlanta, Colegiales, Deportivo Madryn, Deportivo Maipú, Ferro, Gimnasia y Tiro, Güemes (SdE), Los Andes, Patronato, Quilmes, Racing (Cba), San Martín de Tucumán, San Miguel, and Tristán Suárez. Meanwhile, Zone B will be made up of Agropecuario, Almirante Brown, Central Norte, Chacarita, Chaco For Ever, Colón, Defensores de Belgrano, Defensores Unidos, Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy, Gimnasia de Mendoza, Mitre (SdE), Nueva Chicago, Talleres (RdE), Temperley, and San Telmo.
